Sky Moka Coffee runs the coffee shop at 532 Neptune Avenue, Brooklyn, and the Sky Moka app. This explains what the app collects, why, and who else sees it.
The app can open your camera to scan a credit card at checkout, so you don't have to type the number. It's optional, it runs inside Stripe's software, and the image is never stored or sent to us. Decline it and you can type the card in instead.
A few companies help us run the app. Each sees only what it needs.
| Company | What it sees | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Card details, name, email, amount, device signals | To take payment and detect fraud |
| Twilio | Your phone number | To text you a sign-in code |
| Expo | Your notification token and a device identifier | To deliver notifications and app updates |
| Render | Everything stored, as our host | To run our servers |
Our staff can see your name, apartment, order history and rewards balance, in order to make and deliver your orders.
If someone who doesn't live here sends an order to your apartment, we tell you it arrived, who sent it (first name only), and what it was. The points go to you. If you join someone's group order, the person who started it can see your first name and what you added.
Order and payment records are kept for seven years, as required for tax and accounting. Everything else is kept while your account is open. Close your account and we erase your personal details, keeping only what the law requires.
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or another state with a privacy law, those rights are yours by statute and the same address is how you use them. We won't treat you differently for asking.
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted. Your sign-in token is held in your phone's secure keychain. Card details never reach us. We store no passwords, because there aren't any. No system is perfect — if we ever discover a breach affecting your information, we will tell you.
The app isn't intended for children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top, and announce material changes in the app before they take effect.
